Cities need talent to solve complex social issues through creativity and Innovation
Talent is spread around the world, and the most talented people usually need just a laptop, a backpack and a ticket to move around the world, learn as much as they can, and help to improve things around them. They are called Knowmads (Knowledge Nomads).
WE FOCUS ON SOCIAL CHALLENGES
FROM A CITIZEN CENTRIC POINT OF VIEW
We use the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to measure success in implementing all our actions and programs. We always tackle issues by matching them to one or more SDGs to make sure they adress some of the global challenges we face today including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. “Leave no one behind” is the principle behind our designs.
Digital Gender Gap
We fight against the gender digital divide by creating educational and leisure activities for girls in middle and high school and disseminating actions done by others in that area. Our goal is to generate a science, technology, innovation and creativity (STEAM) vocation in young girls.
We know that many elder people, when they reach 65 with health and energy and have to retire, want to continue doing things that activate their intelligence, skills and talents. We create active aging programs that offer them challenges to remain socially integrated and fight against social isolation.
It is terrible to know the figures of youth unemployment that some countries have. Something is happening in our society if we are not able to provide work to our younger generations. This program works with young people without studies and also with young people who have higher education but can not find a job to focus their professional future through science and technology.
We help governments and companies to design any kind of project with social impact in their local territory. We act as coaches with the internal teams to empower them to change small things that will have a big impact. And we also build temporary teams to execute all that work. The idea is that the city hall can learn “how to” innovate from the bottom up to mach real needs with effective projects and people.
HOW WE DO that
We travel to the most innovative cities in the world to learn from their leading-edge approaches in solving common problems and challenges
the quintuple helix innovation model
We involve the widest possible range of stakeholders in the design of our projects including government, academia, industry and citizens, and take into account the natural environmental and social ecology, while keeping a clear focus on creating quality relations and stakeholder engagement
Fostering Local SOCIAL INNOVATION
We design area-based strategies to solve any metropolitan challenge by sharing and adapting what we have learned in other cities and places, and building on local potential by creating processes with the people involved
We work with talented people across the globe who team-up with design teams especially created for each project to match real needs with specific talents. Our aim is to develop digital social innovation projects, in conjunction with the city itself, that are long-lasting
